Countersinks are useful for drilling pilot holes and countersink or counterbore holes in wood prior to screwing, allowing the head of the shaft of the screw to thread neatly into the workpiece with little resistance and the head of the screw to sink flush with the surface of the material. This set includes bits for screw sizes #8, #10, and #12, along with a quick-change chuck and a 1/8" allen key for adjusting pilot depth to match the length of screw.
